As an editorial and fine art photographer, I'm interested in capturing honest, telling and engaging pictures of our world. Shared human experiences and the Earth's natural beauty are themes frequently expressed in my photographs. My editorial work has appeared via the Associated Press in many online and print media outlets including the websites and published editions of MSNBC, National Geographic, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune and a variety of other newspapers and publications. My art photography has been included in exhibits at the Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Charles Wustum Museum of Fine Art in Racine, Wisconsin, and the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Selected recent honors include:

National Geographic - Visions of Paradise International Photography Contest - Overall Winner 2009

Center for Fine Art Photography - Artist Showcase Award 2008

Wisconsin News Photographers Association - 2009 First Award - Spot News and Photo Illustration, Third Award - Feature Photo, Honorable Mention - Feature Photo

Best in Show 2007

As a photojournalist for the Watertown Daily Times in Watertown, Wisconsin, I consider myself fortunate to be working in a field I find as rewarding now as when I began more than twenty years ago. Small daily newspapers offer unique challenges and opportunities for photographers. I'm still amazed at how many stories small communities have to offer, and how willing most people are to share them. We live in a big world, but cities of all sizes are microcosms of human interaction. Expectations, joys and sorrows are common human experiences, and I feel privileged to be a voice.
